rip steam gambling :(
« on: 14.07.2016 00:38:13 »
The story begins with this fucking faggot TmarTn aka Martin and the mighty syndicate aka Tom Cassell.. they made few videos in the past about this gambling website that they found.. They recommended their viewers to use it and stuff...

Then this happend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8fU2QG-lV0 this guy exposed them as the owners of the fucking site.... then the drama began and shit got real.

"In the suit, which was filed by an anonymous parent on behalf of their child, Valve is accused of deliberately allowing the creation of a market where players and third-parties trade weapon skins like casino chips. The lawsuits accuse Valve and third-party sites like CSGO Diamonds, CSGO Lounge and CSGO Lotto of allowing millions of Americans to link their individual Steam accounts to websites that allow players to gamble with their CS: GO weapon skins." (http://www.polygon.com/2016/7/7/12116902/csgo-lotto-and-owners-sued-over-illegal-gambling-allegations)

"In an amended complaint filed today in the Southern District of Florida, CSGO Lotto, Martin and Thomas Cassell have been added to one of two complaints filed against Valve Corporation in the past few weeks." (http://www.polygon.com/2016/7/7/12116902/csgo-lotto-and-owners-sued-over-illegal-gambling-allegations)

And today steam announces that "Using the OpenID API and making the same web calls as Steam users to run a gambling business is not allowed by our API nor our user agreements." (http://store.steampowered.com/news/22883/)

What that means is that gambling is fucking dead... So it bring to the point that BETTING will get fucked too.... if this happens then esports are getting a big strike..... all those turnaments will be shit... and people like phantoml0rd that do csgo gambling for living is gonna hurt :(

At the end of the day this all happened because syndicate and tmar :< screw them!! the hate is real.

Lets all pray for the collapse of csgolounge :(

For now lets just wait few days and see what will happen...

(just for the lolz http://imgur.com/1LEiElw)

OPskins and other websites which provides skins will stay up, and will probably not be affected by this problem. But when it comes to csgolounge it is unsure, becuase it is also a tradingsite and if csgolounge also gets brutally fucked in the ass by valve I really do not know what to do. (I use it to trade, and some time bet).
Csgolounge is one of the websites that bring alot of viewers to the different csgo marches and major. If csgolounge also has to shut down, the viewer base will drop more than it already has. The last major (esl Frankfurt) was one of the least watched majors in the history of CSGO with less than half of the viewers from MLG Columbus. And this will just get worse and worse. Is CS:GO slowly dieing?

PS: If you are a skinwhore like me, this is probably the moment to buy your skins 'cause the prices will drop massivly.

Sorry for the typos and/or poor English, I was half dead when I wrote this, xD

Dota 2 has huge audience without betting websites. Why the CS:GO community doesn't take that as an example?

I wish that they could, but I suppose they are just way too different, But CSGO became a real not only because of the gameplay itself, but also for the fact that you can bet away in-game skins. When that second part is slowly dieing, I suppose the interest of the game will dissapear aswell

If people stop playing cs:go because they are not able to bet they are retarded af. It's not a fokin casino is it? The only reason I could see cs:go dying is the increasing amount of Russians that seem to want to ruin/troll the games more and more often.

EDIT: actually now that I think about it Putin will probably take over cs:go and make it Russian only

ps sry bad inglis

It's good they finally fixed this issue, I felt so triggered and unsafe because of this, I also lost so much money from all the betting I did.
