You could try going for this.

Pros:
1) They're quite common. You'll be able to acquire one rather easily
2) Very cheap.
3) Your cat will love it.

Cons:
1) Might fall apart easily
2) No warranty
3) 800 DPI
4) Wireless

You could try hosting private servers of some MMO's (require a lot of work to set up).

I was also thinking L4D2 - active player-base, source engine, doesn't require much effort to set up and manage (mods).

Just a thought, but you could try hosting Terraria server with RPG mods and custom accounts. Could be fun to pop-in every now and then.

Oh well, can't please everybody. It's a gradual increase of resource gathering rate, it's part of the RPG plugin.

Most people dislike the standard gathering rate.

Mods don't make it harder to run the game. Mods/plugins are simply scripts.

Also we tried to keep it vanilla as possible (with a little twist). No such stuff as teleports.
Included plugins are stated in the description of the server.
