A sad day in the history of catgc
« on: 23.05.2015 02:26:43 »
Yesterday, catgc lost a most valuable member. Stian Finanger Thorvaldsen, or as we knew him best, Adolf Hipster, passed away last night.
He had a severe case of meningitis, an infection in the brain and/or spinal cord. He was admitted yesterday, then he was moved to another hospital, where he took his last breath.

He was one of the founding members of this community and a great part in shaping CaTGC into what it is today. We might not have agreed upon everything and no doubt, there were conflicts. But he was a great person none the less.

19 years is how old he became before he left this world. That's one year older than me. I'm sure he treasured life as much as anyone, yet he ceased to exist at such a young age. This could've happened to anyone.

I know I'm not particularly good at writing this kind of stuff, but please don't let my ability get in the way of honoring his memory.

My thoughts go to his family and close ones.

So, remember: never hesitate to live your life to the fullest. It's your privilege to have the means to do so, so don't let them go to waste. Death can come when we least expect it.

Stian was really good friend to me, he always supported my decisions and was always there to back me up. We had a lot of fun together, played many games together. We even played drinking game. He will always be in my heart.

R.I.P.

I still wish this is all an elaborate, stupid prank.

I really liked Hipster. Finding out that he died like that gave me a sick feeling in my stomach. I even looked up symptoms for meningitis. From what I remember, it's pretty easy to catch.

Thinking about it, he's only the second person I talked to who died. I'm not used to this feeling yet at all.

Are there more details? How fast did this all happen?

Not quite sure, but meningitis seems to be a pretty fast-developing disease, so I don't think he was ill for very long before he was admitted. Thomlin seems to be the one who knows the most about this, but he might not want to talk that much about it, seeing as they were pretty close.

Aww, fuck! I can't believe this! Why him? Can anyone make a tribute video for him or something?

I had never made it to talk to him in person but what I'll remember from him is his kidness and how much loyalty he had shown to make the server a good place to hang around.

I didn't know him much... but I can't add anything except this song:

Nickelback – If Today Was Your Last Day

Rest in peace,
Stian Finanger Thorvaldsen, or as we knew him best, Adolf Hipster.

Even though we didn't know eachother in real life I always felt like you were a great gut and kind of a rolemodel for me. You we're by far my favorite  person in catgc. I remember when I first added him, he was so kind and invited me to play with him and thomlin. You and thomlin made me so happy when you invited me to play csgo.

Rest in peace Stian

I hope he is in a better world now and I just shed a tear remembering all the things he did for me even if it wasnt that much. And the feeling of losing a friend was something i never wanted to feel nor remember ever again. RIP Adolf.
